Nitrogen Sources

Nutralene® is a reacted, controlled-release nitrogen. It is manufactured by reacting urea with formaldehyde to provide slow release nitrogen in carbon-linked polymers, as done when producing Nitroform®, but with a wider urea to formaldehyde ratio. Compared to Nitroform®, a much higher percentage of the nitrogen is released over a shorter period because of increased solubility. Nitrogen is released over 12 to 16 weeks by hydrolysis and microbial activity with minimal risk of burning. This combination of dependability and safety makes Nutralene® ideally suited for golf courses and other professional turf applications. Nutralene® is produced in Courtright, ON.
